Overview
This workshop is suitable for students who are aiming to pursuit level 4 or higher in ICAO English Proficiency Assessment. An intensive 8-hour workshop aimed to consolidate student's critical skills in Aviation English and Communications. This workshop is designed according to the standard from the Manual on the Implementation of ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements (Doc 9835), 2nd edition, 2010. Class size is limited to maximum six students, to facilitate effective small group teaching and learning. Private coaching is also availalbe on request.
Lesson 1 - Structure and Storytelling
Understanding of ICAO English Proficiency rating scale;
Revision of Aviation Radiotelephony communication structure;
Common grammatical error.
Critical skills highlight: Structure, pronunciation.
Lesson 2 - Comparison and Contrasting
Plain English vs Aviation English;
Description of an event.
Critical skills highlight: Fluency, vocabulary
Lesson 3 - Listening and Comprehension
Accent familiarisation;
Short-term memory exercise.
Critical skills highlight: Comprehension, fluency
Lesson 4 - Emergency Lexicon and On-topic Discussion
Paraphrasing;
